Mumbai Metro Good News: Safety certificate for Mumbai Metro Line 2A and 7, PM Modi to inaugurate on January 19

Mumbai Metro News: The hassle of traveling anywhere in the country’s financial capital Mumbai is going to end. The Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has said that operations on Line 2A and Line 7 of the second phase of the Mumbai Metro will begin soon. The second phase of Metro Line-2A and 7 will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on January 19. On Thursday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited Gundavali station in Andheri area to take stock of the preparations for the inauguration.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said “From January 19, Metro will become fully operational on the 35 km stretch of Metro Route 7 and Metro Route 2A. This will be a great convenience for the citizens in the entire western suburbs Andheri, Dahisar, Versova area and Road traffic will reduce.

Line 2A connects Dahanukarwadi in Kandivali to DN Nagar and Line 7 connects Aarey Road to Andheri Highway. According to an estimate, once the traffic on the 2A line starts completely, more than 16 lakh passengers will be able to travel per day. A total of 37 stations have been prepared on this line. These lines will connect with Mumbai’s first metro corridor connecting Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar. The construction work of 2A was started in November 2016.
