Apart from the two defenders, the Steelers also retained star raiders Mitu Sharma and Vinay Teotia, who made a mark with their consistent performances last season. Youngster Ankit Dhul (defender), who joined midway through Season 8, has also been retained by the Steelers for the upcoming season.
Dahiya scored 66 points from 22 games and was fourth on the list of highest scoring defenders of the season, while Nandal was one of the Steelers’ key players in the previous edition of the Pro Kabaddi League, earning a total of 42 tackle points in 22 . Both games played a key role in the defense for the Steelers last season.
“We have made plans for the upcoming season and have strategically retained players accordingly. In the auction, we will try to address the shortcomings in our team. Meanwhile, Meetoo scored a total of 75 raid points in 16 matches last season, while Vinay was also an integral member of Haryana Steelers’ raiding department, scoring a total of 51 points in 15 matches.
