Jahan and Katya were also awarded gold medals for their victory.

The National Kiteboarding Championship was organized under the aegis of Yachting Association of India (YAI) at KRS Backwaters, Mysore. Trishna Sailing Club conducted the program. KRS Backwaters is a great place for kite flying during monsoon and fresh water with strong winds.

After the race, women’s gold medalist Katya Saini said, “It was really exciting for me to kiteboard in my hometown. I could have done well here because I had the advantage of knowing the conditions very well.”

Kiteboarding was part of the National YAI Youth Multi Class Sailing and Kiteboarding Championship 2022.
