Pranavi confident chasing fourth win of the season at WPGT

WPGT stays in Southern Metro for the second week in a row and Pranavi would love nothing more than to take her win tally to four this season. This is the eighth leg of the WPG Tour and this week’s purse is Rs 12 lakh.

All the regulars in the field include Jhanvi Bakshi, Ridhima Dilawari, Sehar Atwal, Neha Tripathi, Afshan Fatima, Aastha Madan and others.

Jhanvi will not be able to support her sister Hitashi, who is missing due to school exams this week. However, Gaurika Bishnoi has recovered from illness and Meher Atwal is also back on the field after missing the last event.

Among the amateurs to watch will be Vidhatri Urs, who was ranked third last week behind Pranavi, and Asmita Satish. Rishika Muralidhar got off to a great start in the opening round but she slipped after that.

Smriti Bhargava, who recently made her way into the Indian national team for the World Amateur Team Championships (WATC) in France later this year, will also be in focus.

Another amateur player would be Heena Kang, who was ranked sixth last week.

Neha Tripathi, who had a decent fifth-place finish last week along with Ridhima Dilawari, Lakhmehar Pardesi and Sahar Atwal, among others, will be hoping for a good result this season to turn their fortunes upside down.
