Rishabh Pant Ricky Ponting India vs South Africa Delhi: India had to face defeat in the first match of the T20 series played against South Africa. In this match played in Delhi, South Africa won by 7 wickets. It was an important match for Rishabh Pant. He made his debut as a captain in International T20 matches. After this match, former Australian player Ricky Ponting praised Pant fiercely.
Ponting has said that Rishabh Pant should be an integral part of India’s ICC T20 World Cup campaign in Australia later this year. He said the wicketkeeper-batsman would prove to be “extraordinarily dangerous for India” as there are flat and bouncy pitches.
“He (Pant) is an amazing player. He will prove to be exceptionally dangerous for India,” he added.
After seeing Pant’s progress at Delhi Capitals, the Australian legend felt that Pant should be used as a ‘floater’ during the T20 World Cup in October-November this year.
Ponting felt that considering the ‘dynamic’ and ‘explosive’ cricketer, Pant would like to use Pant in a distinctive role as a left-handed batsman.
Significantly, India scored 211 runs while batting first. During this, Ishan Kishan played a brilliant innings of 76 runs. Ishaan faced 48 balls and hit 11 fours and 3 sixes. In reply, South Africa won the match in 19.1 overs. David Miller played an unbeaten innings of 64 runs for the African team. Miller faced 31 balls and hit 5 sixes and 4 fours.
