Meta launches NFT support in 100 countries on Instagram

The expansion follows the social network’s initial NFT trial launch in May. With this expansion, users and businesses in over 100 countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and the Americas will now be able to share their NFTs on Instagram.

As TechCrunch reports, prior to the expansion, support was only available to select creators in the US.

The company also announced that Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet are now accepted as compatible third-party wallets for use.

Instagram is also expanding its backed blockchain to include Flow.

Instagram’s NFT functionality allows users to connect a digital wallet, automatically tag a creator and collector for NFT sharing and attribution.

Users can share NFTs to their main Instagram feed, Stories or Messages. Once they post a digital collectible, it will have a shimmering effect and may display public information, such as the details of an NFT.

To post digital collectibles on Instagram, users must connect their digital wallet to Instagram.
