Missing Tesla’s ‘Killing’ FSD Technique: Former US Presidential Candidate

Political and consumer protection advocate Nader has called on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US to remove FSD technology from every Tesla.

According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the technology is available in about 100,000 vehicles.

“Tesla should never have implemented this technology in their vehicles,” Nader said in a statement late Wednesday. Now more than 100,000 Tesla owners are currently using the technology that research finds faults every eight minutes. It shows.”

“I’m calling on federal regulators to take immediate action to stop the increasing deaths and injuries from accidents killing Tesla with this technology,” he said.

Last week, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in California accused Tesla of making fake claims about its Autopilot and full self-driving (FSD) features.

The agency said in its filing that Tesla “misunderstood” that cars equipped with the technology can operate autonomously.

NHTSA has been investigating Tesla and its full self-driving technology for several years.

“NHTSA should use its security recall authorization to order the removal of FSD technology in every Tesla. This country should not allow this bad software,” Nader said.

“No one is above the laws of murder,” he said.

Tesla drivers have to pay an additional $12,000 for the FSD system that comes with auto-parking, auto lane changing and the ability for drivers to call the vehicle to stand from the parking space.

In Tesla’s second-quarter earnings call, Musk said the price of FSD beta could increase by the end of this year.
