Samsung unveils Android 13-based One UI 5 beta on Galaxy S22 series

The One UI 5 update introduces new ways for users to customize their smartphone experience, including an expanded set of color options for a more tailored look.

One UI 5 beta will first be available in the US, Germany, and South Korea, and there are plans to release it in other regions in the coming months.

One UI 5 brings a range of new customization, security and accessibility features as part of Samsung’s ongoing commitment to provide the latest mobile experience to as many users as possible, the company said.

Users now get 16 preset color themes based on their wallpaper and 12 more color options for their home screen, icons and quick panel for a look and feel that suits their style.

Users can further customize their home screen by stacking similarly sized widgets in one place, saving space and creating a cleaner, more organized look.

“One UI 5 streamlines the process of changing sound and vibration settings with a reorganized menu that provides easy access to all ringtone volumes and vibration intensities,” Samsung said.

For the first time, Galaxy users can even create their own preferred language for their individual apps.

“Users can capture high-quality photos and videos in Pro and Pro Video modes with a new icon that provides useful tips and tricks on how to use the various lenses, features and controls,” the company said.

With One UI 5, a new dashboard lets users view the security status of their phones, shows if there are security issues and recommends ways to fix them.
