Brian William Marchment was a Canadian ice hockey defender. He was born on 1 May 1969 in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. In 1982, he began playing in the Quebec International Pee-wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Mississauga. Later, from 1985 to 1989, he made it to his junior career by playing four seasons with the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League. Being a defender, he was selected in the first round of the Winnipeg Jets in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. On March 29, 1989, Bryan made his NHL debut for the Jets against the Los Angeles Kings at the Great Western Forum. From 1990 to 2006, he was traded and played for various teams. As of March 2008, he became a scout and was in charge of player development for the Sharks.

He plays for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Until the age of 19, he did not play significant hockey but was signed by the Maple Leafs to an American Hockey League contract in 2016. In 2017, he signed an entry-level contract with the Maple Leafs for two years. Later in 2020, he was traded to Florida Panthers and holds a record 6 points. On 18 February 2022, he scored the first hat-trick of his career with a win over the Minnesota Wild.

Brian Marchment started his career with the Jets on 29 March 1989. Later, they were traded by various leagues to play and exchange for other players. On July 22, 1991, Bryan traded Chris Norton to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Troy Murray and Warren Richel. Again, on 2 November 1993, he was traded to the Hartford Whalers with Steve Larmer in exchange for Eric Weinrich and Patrick Paulin. However, he was sent to the Edmonton Oilers on 30 August 1994 as compensation for Hartford’s signing with Steven Rice. In his fourth season with Edmonton, Bryan traded again with Jason Bonsignor and Steve Kelly to the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 30, 1997, for Roman Hammerlick and Paul Comrie. Again, on March 24, 1998, he was traded to the San Jose Sharks along with David Shaw for Andrei. Nazarov and Vincent Lakevalier. Finally, with the San Jose Sharks, Bryan made a career out of 22 points in the 2001–2002 NHL season. He was then signed by the Calgary Flames as a free agent on October 11, 2005. During the 2005–2006 season, Bryan became a free agent and a scout for the San Jose Sharks from 2008.
